We’re excited to share our experience developing Zipistream, a mobile app designed to help podcast influencers grow their subscriber base and engage with their followers. We faced some technical challenges along the way, but our team always found a way to deliver state-of-the-art digital solutions that met our client’s needs. 

Initial Request

Zipistream is designed to help podcast influencers gain more subscribers and communicate with their followers directly via email. When you sign up, you can choose between three payment plans that offer different numbers of subscribers and the number of newsletters you can send monthly. 

Wanted App Features and Future Improvements 

Our team created Zipistream with several features that podcast influencers need, including: 

  • Creating and sending newsletters 
  • Importing an existing mailing list 
  • Adding bonus content 
  • Referral system 
  • Report an issue functionality 
  • Marketplace page 
  • Complete redesign and flow when creating a new account 
  • New Edit podcast page 

Used Technologies/Needed Technologies 

We used ReactJS and Node.JS to create the Zipistream app. 

Problems That Accrued During the Process & Solutions That Were Founded During the Process 

Creating the Marketplace page was the biggest challenge during the development of Zipistream. The page lists campaigns that podcasters can run to collect leads and earn money via PayPal. Our team created a Google Sheet document to collect campaign data every four hours, which is then written to the database. We also developed a wallet page where podcasters can track their earnings. 

Results and Benefits During the Process 

Despite the technical challenges we faced, we learned a lot during the development of Zipistream. Our team gained valuable experience in dealing with complex scenarios and finding solutions that best fit the problem. 

Advice 

If you’re working on a big project like Zipistream, it’s always a good idea to break the task into smaller groups of tasks and start with what you’re familiar with. If you run into any problems, don’t be afraid to ask someone with more experience for help. And don’t give up, even if it seems too hard or you’ve made a mistake. Learn from your mistakes and keep going.
